Ash Warden — hero shot420 mm (16.5 in)

The brief

The Warden started as a silhouette study: how much armour can you strip away before a figure stops reading as a guardian? The final form keeps a heavy pauldron line and sheds almost everything below the ribs, which puts the weight of the piece in the upper third and gives the pose its lean.

Build notes

Printed in nine parts on an 8K resin machine at 25-micron layers, with the cloak sectioned so the drape could be sanded without losing the sculpted fold edges. A brass rod armature runs from the base through the standing leg into the torso, so the figure carries its own weight rather than relying on the socket.

Finishing

Base coats went down in thinned lacquer, then four oil filter passes to build the oxide gradient from boot to shoulder. The ash layer is a dry pigment fixed with a matte sealer — close up you can still see the grain sitting in the recesses.
